Vineyard Ludlow
Introduction
•
The Vineyard is a terrace of 4 stone-built cottages accessed through a
pedestrian gate from Lower Broad Street by a 1 metre wide flagged and
cobbled footpath.
• 2 The Vineyard is approximately 30 metres along the footpath from
Lower Broad Street.
Pre-Arrival
•
We have an informative website with descriptions and photographs of the
property, its accommodation and location. The website will continue to
be updated and expanded.
• Enquiries and bookings can be made via several phone numbers or
email.
• All guests are provided with written directions to the cottage
together with a Ludlow street map.
• The nearest bus stop is 200 metres from the Vineyard, at Ludford
Bridge.
• Ludlow railway station is approximately 0.5 mile away. The route
between the railway station and the Vineyard involves an uphill walk of
approximately 200-300 yards in both directions.
• Taxis are available at the railway station and outside Somerfield
supermarket close to the town centre.
Arrival & Car Parking facilities
•
There is no direct vehicle access to the cottage as it is located on a
footpath that leads from Lower Broad Street.
• At the entrance to the Vineyard, the roadway at Lower Broad Street
is above pavement level and so a flight of 4 stone steps with a handrail
to one side enables transit from road to pavement level.
• Car-parking on Lower Broad Street is subject to “Pay &
Display” with a maximum daily stay of 3 hours between 8.00am and
6.00pm.
• Two disabled spaces are available in Lower Broad Street. However,
it should be noted that within the vicinity of the cottage, the stone
steps are likely to be used and the roadway, pavements and parking spaces
are generally sloping.
• Guests are generally recommended to use the “Pay & Display”
parking on Lower Broad Street whilst un/loading their car, then transfer
the vehicle to the nearest “Pay & Display” car park at
Smithfield (Approximately 1/3 mile away) for which we provide a pre-paid
parking permit that allows unlimited parking for the duration of their
stay
• The walk from Smithfield car park to The Vineyard is generally
fairly level, with a slight incline from the bottom of Lower Broad Street
to The Vineyard (approximately 150 yds)
Main
Entrance & Reception
•
The main (only) entrance is the front door beneath a covered porchway
accessed from the footpath, which opens into the dining kitchen.
• The key for this door is kept in a secure key box adjacent to
the door. Access details are provided to guests before arrival.
• The front door is 790mm wide x 1990mm high, hinged on the left.
The keyhole is 1180mm above floor level.
• There is a step up from the footpath of 130mm onto a stone step
that is 600mm deep.
• There are 4 light switches on the wall to the right as the front
door opens which control the ceiling and kitchen unit lights and the external
porchway light.
• There is a large coir mat set into the floor immediately inside
the front door.
• The kitchen floor is timber effect laminate.
• A “Welcome Pack” including details about the cottage
is provided on the kitchen table for guests’ arrival.
Dining
Room & Lounge
•
Door from the dining kitchen to the lounge is 790mm wide x 1910mm high.
• There is a single step down to the lounge of 180mm. The step is
650mm wide x 400mm deep.
• The flooring is solid oak.
• Ahead and to the right are two 2 seater settees, with a coffee
table between.
• There is a flatscreen TV and DVD player with remote controls and
a CD player/radio, also with remote control.
• An “L” shaped staircase leads from the lounge. An
enclosed cupboard beneath the stairs houses vacuum cleaner, mop, brush,
ironing board etc.
Stairs
& Landing
•
The staircase has a half landing 8 steps up. The half landing measures
830mm x 830mm.
• There is a banister rail to the left of the stairs, going up to
the first floor. The banister rail is 900mm above the treads.
• From the half landing, there are 5 steps rising to the left up
to the main landing.
• The main landing is 1800mm x 1750mm (max)
Laundry
•
There is a standard sized built-in front-loading fully automatic washing
machine/tumble dryer in the kitchen.
• A portable clothes drying rack is provided and kept in the understairs
cupboard.
Upstairs Bedrooms
Bedroom
One
•
There is a single step up from the landing of 200mm. The step is 780mm
wide x 400mm deep.
• Handrail on the left 900mm above step.
• The door is 850mm wide x 1990mm high, hinged on the right.
• Carpetted with beige colour 80% wool short pile carpet.
• There is a 5ft king size frame bed with Hypnos mattress.
• Bed height is 650mm to top of mattress.
• Bedding is Egyptian cotton with non-feather pillows and duck down
and feather duvet. Additional pillows are available.
• The space to the left of the bed is 1350mm. The space to the rigt
of the bed is 1350mm.
• Bedroom One has a single light switch at the door and individual
reading lamps on bedside cabinets to each side of the bed.
Bedroom
Two
•
Door is 840mm wide x 1800mm high, hinged on the right.
• Carpetted with beige colour 80% wool short pile carpet.
• There is a 4ft 6” wide divan bed with a Hypnos mattress.
• Bed height is 600mm to top of mattress.
• Bedding is Egyptian cotton with non-feather pillows and duck down
and feather duvet. Additional pillows are available.
• The space to the left of the bed is 420mm. The space to the right
of the bed is 420mm.
• Bedroom Two has a double light switch at the door operating the
ceiling light over the bed and twin halogen lamps which illuminate the
clothes storage area. Individual reading lamps are provided on bedside
cabinets on either side of the bed.
Bathroom
& Shower Room
•
Door 850mm wide x 1950mm high.
• Shower/bath with glazed screen and flexible wall-mounted shower
unit at the end of the bath.
• Bath and shower controls are wall-mounted at side of bath.
• Bath height is 480mm.
• Anti-slip bath mat is provided.
• Toilet seat height is 440mm.
• Space to the right of toilet is 350mm. Space to the left of toilet
is 600mm.
• There is a wall-mounted heated towel rail between bath and WC.
• Height to top of washbasin is 780mm.
• Flooring is wood-effect laminate.
Self-catering Kitchen
•
The kitchen has 1 external door and 1 internal door leading down a step
into the lounge.
• The kitchen units and appliances are all new (installed Spring
2008) and built-in/integrated, with the exception of a free-standing fridge
with 4* icebox compartment.
• The work surfaces, hob and sink unit are 920mm above floor level
and 600mm deep.
• An extractor unit is located above the hob/oven.
• A microwave oven is provided.
• Crockery, pans and cooking utensils are provided in the cupboards
beneath work surfaces. Glasses, cups and plates etc are stored in the
wall cupboards.
• The electric oven is accessed from the front. The oven grill is
700mm above floor level and the main oven shelf is 400mm above floor level.
• The kitchen is illuminated by two sets of 3 no. recessed ceiling
lights and under-unit lighting in the fitted kitchen.
Outdoor
Facilities
•
To the front of the property and to the left when exiting is a gravelled
strip 900mm deep and 5m wide with a rustic bench 1800mm wide x 600mm deep.
• 2 fold-away picnic chairs are provided – these are stored
in the understairs cupboard.
Additional
Information
•
A “Welcome Pack” is provided plus separate folders containing
manufacturers instruction leaflets and places of interest, pubs, restaurants
etc. to visit.
• A strict No Smoking policy is in force.
• No pets are allowed at the property.
• Good mobile phone reception.
The
